Handmade color, connected to tradition.
Canadian watercolour artist Eric Rowe began Stoneground’s founder-led story in Saskatchewan in 2016. Today, Eric and his daughter Jenny shape a craft- and research-driven company dedicated to reconnecting modern artists with the materials and methods behind their work.
Stoneground crafts artist color in small batches, combining finely selected pigments with locally sourced organic prairie honey and gum arabic. The formulas forgo fillers, extenders, and preservatives so each pigment can retain its individual character, movement, and luminosity.

Why Sampro proudly works with Stoneground
Authentic materials make a memorable retail story.
Stoneground gives artists more than a color chart: every pan carries a clear point of view about pigment, process, and craft. Its founder-led approach, traditional binder, and distinctive small-batch palette give creative retailers an engaging product to demonstrate, teach, and build community around.
Sampro is proud to bring Stoneground Paint Co. to more artists and retailers across the United States beginning in 2026.
